North Johnson Street Threat of Arson/Disorderly Conduct Arrest

On May 1, 2026, officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 100 block of North Johnson Street after receiving a report of a woman yelling and threatening to burn down a residence. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim, who stated that a female, later identified as Jacqueline Shaffer, had threatened to set his home on fire. Shaffer was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Allegany County Detention Center. She is currently awaiting her initial appearance before a district court commissioner.
