Elder Law Practice Still Active

Jim Zamagias

The unexpected death last month of local attorney Carl Miltenberger caused many residents to wonder what to do if in need of a specialist in elder law. WCBC has learned the Miltenberger law practice is still active, with cases now being attended to by Miltenberger’s son Alexander, also a lawyer. The younger Miltenberger shared with WCBC about the three important documents older residents should acquire…

“A will is for what happens to your stuff after you die, a power of attorney is for someone to take care of your finances while you’re alive, and then the advance directive does two things, the first part is it appoints someone to make your healthcare decisions if you can’t make them yourself. And the second part is what people normally would refer to as a living will – talks about the kind of care you want at the end of your life.”
