ACPS 2026-27 School Calendar
The 2026-27 school calendar for Allegany County was finalized at Tuesday’s Board of Education Meeting. Middle and high school students begin August 25th and pre-school and kindergarten will start August 31st. Two half days were added to the schedule to accommodate personnel meetings, according to Chief Academic Officer Katie Loughrie. Weather permitting, the school year will end June 3rd, 2027, for students and June 4th for teachers…
“Three inclement weather days are built into the calendar, which could extend the school year to June 8th for students and June 9th for teachers if needed. As a reminder, for the first three district-wide closures, no school is in session. If we exceed the three district-wide closures, then we move to virtual learning through Schoolgy as we have done in the past.”
