Man Arrested Following Police Pursuit

Allegany County Sheriff Deputies were involved in a high speed pursuit on Friday afternoon that ultimately ended in an arrest and two police vehicles being damaged. Deputies attempted a traffic stop on Mt. Savage Road near Corriganville, but the driver fled at a high rate of speed.  The pursuit continued through the LaVale area until the driver hit a utility pole on Illinois Avenue.  As a result, Gabriel William Nosek of Linden, Michigan was taken into custody and charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault, DUI-related offenses and other charges.
