Ocean City’s first summer weekend was hampered by rain and clouds but thousands still flocked to the beach resort.  With the trams no longer running on the boardwalk, Ocean City is using pedicabs for transportation along the boards.  The pedicabs will transfer smaller numbers of pedestrians than the trams.  Bicycle hours have been extended to 2 p.m. on the boardwalk.  On the beach, Ocean City has hired patrol officers to enforce canopy regulations.  Lifeguards will be on duty from 10 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. each day.
