Flood Watch Issued by National Weather Service

Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible for portions of western Maryland, including the following areas, Eastern Garrett, Extreme Western Allegany and Western Garrett and eastern West Virginia, including the following areas, Western Grant, Western Mineral and Western Pendleton from 4 AM Wednesday through Wednesday afternoon.
Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.
Showers and thunderstorms are expected to move over the area in the predawn hours on Wednesday and drift southeast through the day. Repeated rounds are possible, with localized rainfall totals nearing 1 to 3 inches. Given days of soaking rains and creeks and streams running high, this could result in flooding.
You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
