“America250 spokesperson Rosie Rios says it fulfills a 2016 mandate from Congress that was put in place to honor the country’s 250th birthday:  They created this 900-pound stainless steel vessel that’s going to be waterproof and then they’re going to cap it with an 1100-pound kind of jar cap. So a ton, literally, is what this is going to weigh when it’s buried.”
