Pennsylvania Hits 10M Tree Goal with Hummelstown Planting

Pennsylvania hit a big milestone by planting its 10 millionth tree along the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Hummelstown P-A recently celebrated eight years cleaning up water and restoring streamside habitats. “As we’re looking at some of the environmental impacts and why we started this in the first place, really trees are such a good filter, and they help to absorb and slow down polluted runoff from rainstorms. Their roots help to stabilize stream banks.”
