Sheriff’s Office supports F.C.I. Cumberland in Criminal Interdiction

On Sunday, June 21, 2026, deputies with the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office assisted F.C.I. Cumberland staff in preventing unauthorized items from entering the facility. During this operation, seven K9 vehicle scans were conducted. As a result of the operation, Nakiah Lashaie Williams, 25, of Newport News, VA, and Laquita Meshea Biggs, 43, of Virginia Beach, VA, were arrested for possession of suspected crack cocaine. Additionally, deputies observed a Virginia-registered vehicle failing to stay to the right as it approached the F.C.I. vehicle search area. After observing signs stating that all vehicles are subject to search, the driver turned around and attempted to leave. Deputies conducted a traffic stop and, noting suspicious behavior from the occupants, deployed a K9 for an exterior sniff of the vehicle. A subsequent search revealed two loaded handguns. The investigation confirmed the vehicle was bound for the F.C.I. Cumberland facility. The occupant, Prince Anthony Level Jenkins, 34, of Newport News, VA, was arrested and charged with one count of carrying a loaded handgun on his person and one count of transporting a handgun in a vehicle. The Allegany County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to working with our partners to interdict and prevent criminal acts.
