George Street garage Trespassing and CDS Arrest

On June 23, 2026 at approximately 0310 hours, a Cumberland Police officer was conducting routine checks of the downtown parking garages. During this time, the officer located Malik Bernard Freeman sleeping in the stairwell of the George Street parking garage where signage is conspicuously posted, “NO TRESPASSING.” The officer placed Freeman under arrest and conducted a search incident to this arrest. During the search, the officer located suspected CDS paraphernalia. Freeman was transported to police headquarters and issued two citations. He was then released pending trial at District Court.
