Lawmakers Warn of Deficit Explosion

This January, incoming lawmakers in Annapolis may be dealing with a much bigger problem than originally thought.  Senators and delegates know that the state is facing another budget deficit, but it could be larger than imagined. “I figure they’re working with a four billion dollar problem for next year. And that will be big enough that you get just past the election, congratulations, swear-in, brand new delegate, and here you go, order of business number one is one of the biggest financial reckonings the state’s had.”
