ACM Names Shepherd 2026 Sanner Winner

 

Allegany College of Maryland has chosen Dr. Tonya Shepherd as the winner of the 2026 Sanner Award for Outstanding Teacher. Dr. Shepherd is a Professor of English and has taught at the college since 2010. She is an assistant chair of Arts and Humanities and teaches courses at the college and in high schools. Miriam Sanner, former ACM Board of Trustees chair, established the award to honor a faculty member demonstrating excellence in teaching and student success.
