Fetterman Pleased With Detention Center Cancelations

Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman is celebrating a decision not to build two ICE facilities for illegal immigrant detention. The Democratic senator in a statement said that proposed facilities in Tremont and Upper Bern have been cancelled by federal officials. The facilities would have housed up to 9,000 detainees. Fetterman had sent letters to Homeland Security leaders saying the projects would result in a loss of $2 million in tax revenue and put a strain on public infrastructure.
