Garrett County Narcotics Task Force Arrests Two Oakland Residents for Methamphetamine Possession

On June 25, 2026, the Garrett County Narcotics Task Force, in coordination with the Maryland State Police Strategic Operations Group and the Maryland State Police McHenry Barrack, made the following arrests as a result of a traffic stop in the Oakland area:
• Ashley Nicole Tichnell, 34, Oakland – Possession of Methamphetamine
• Nathaniel Allen Hemerick, 31, Oakland – Possession of Methamphetamine
Tichnell and Hemerick were transported to the Garrett County Detention Center for processing. The Garrett County Narcotics Task Force is a cooperative enforcement effort between the Garrett County Sheriff’s Office, the Maryland State Police, and the Garrett County State’s Attorney Office.
