Centre Street Assault, Theft, Disorderly Conduct Arrest

On June 28, 2026, officers with the Cumberland Police Department responded to a restaurant on N. Centre Street for a report of a theft and disturbance. The suspect, identified as Rodrigo Valentino Silva-Zarabia, refused to pay for his meal and became argumentative with staff. During the investigation, Silva-Zarabia claimed he had paid for the meal but could not provide proof of payment. After agreeing to pay the bill, Silva-Zarabia assaulted an employee who was assisting him. Officers witnessed the assault and placed Silva-Zarabia under arrest. Silva-Zarabia was transported to the Allegany County Detention Center. He later appeared before a District Court Commissioner for a bond hearing. At the conclusion, he was released on his own recognizance.
