DeafBlind Awareness Week

Jim Zamagias

DeafBlind Awareness Week continues through Wednesday, July 1.  The Helen Keller Center is focusing on “touch” this year with the theme of Connected by Touch: Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges.  Touch is the foundation of connection for the DeafBlind community, from Protactile language, tactile sign language, and haptics to braille, assistive technology, and everyday interactions. Through touch, DeafBlind individuals communicate, navigate, learn, work, and thrive.
