New Laws Take Effect Wednesday

The state of Maryland has several new laws going into effect on July 1. School boards will be required to develop and implement phone-free policies by the 2027-28 academic year.  Also, starting this week, Marylanders will be able to legally manufacture cannabis for personal use in their own homes.  The Utility Relief Act becomes law as the state attempts to reduce energy bills across Maryland.
