The United States Supreme Court ruled on Tuesday that states may bar transgender students from playing on girls sports teams. The state of West Virginia was one of the main players in bringing the case to the Supreme Court, starting when Governor Patrick Morrisey was Attorney General. Current Attorney General J.B. McCuskey told CNN what the ruling means for sports teams…

“This is not a ban on transgender athletes playing sports. This is a ban on biological men playing against biological women. The way that this going to work is that kids are going to play on the sports team with the biological gender they were assigned at birth. And we are going to make sure that every single kid has access to the incredibly life-changing aspects that competitive sports give us.”
