The region is into day 3 of a heat wave and with temperatures in the 90s and heat indexes above 100 degrees, staying safe and cool is important for everyone, especially the elderly and people with heat-related health concerns.  Meteorologist Madison Rikey says the National Weather Service issues alerts and warnings, but preparation is important…

 

 

“You need to make sure you know the temperature. You need to make sure you know how to stay cool and stay hydrated. And then you also absolutely need to know the symptoms of heat stroke and heat exhaustion and what you need to do in those instances so it doesn’t become an emergency.”
