Flood Watch Through Midnight Tuesday

The combination of a slow moving frontal zone with a tropical air mass in place will increase the risk of flash flooding through this evening. Areas affected include Central and Eastern Allegany County, Eastern Garrett and extreme Western Allegany, Eastern Grant, Mineral, Hampshire, and Pendleton counties. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of reivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying locations. Multiple rounds of heavy rainfall are possible throughout this evening. Hourly rainfall rates could push in to the 2 to 3 inch range in the strongest storms with an inch in 20 minutes possible.
