Councilman Gives Review of City Hall Incident

An incident at Cumberland’s City Hall between a mayoral candidate and the city clerk continues to draw attention.  Focus is on July 2 when Darrell Powell was at City Hall to discuss issues around the deadline for campaign forms.  City Councilman Rock Cioni was not there at the time, but told WCBC that it was awful what city clerk Alison Layton experienced…

“He just went on and on with her. She didn’t make the policy for heaven’s sakes and said it was violating his rights. He was really out of control and inappropriate the way it was described to me. He has his phone in her face, like I don’t want to say intimidating, but as if it’s us against them.”
