Should there be a Mount Rushmore of important figures in the history of Cumberland, which dates back to the middle of the 18th century? Morning Show host Dave Norman suggested that Ed Mullaney would be a great candidate and Mayor Ray Morriss agreed…
“Absolutely. I think if you take a look at what Ed Mullaney has done for our community. I mean, that’s why he was the grand marshal at the parade. I mean you look at everything he has done in his hometown all his life, even when he was away as a teacher.
Mayor Morriss then nominated one of his predecessors, Thomas Koon.
“I think former Mayor Koon from back in the 1920s and 30s would absolutely be on there. He was the mayor for 21 years and the one who obviously came up with the lakes and the dam up in Pennsylvania, created our water system.”
