War Powers Resolution Passes House and Dies in Senate

While the U.S. House of Representatives passed a War Powers Resolution requiring President Donald Trump to end the conflict in Iran, the Senate failed to do so by just two votes on Thursday even though four Republicans crossed the aisle to vote in favor of the resolution.  Maryland Democratic Senator Chris Van Hollen spoke on the Senate floor ahead of the vote, questioning what the war has accomplished…

“How had continuing this war made the American people safer?  How has it made the Middle East more stable? How has it strengthened America’s national security? I have yet to hear a credible answer.”
