After offering the Choose Cumberland Relocation Program for about two years, the City of Cumberland is bringing it to a close.  A total of $40,000 in state grant funds remain which the City will request the state to reallocate to other rehabilitation programs within the Historic District.  At Tuesday’s city council Open Work Session, Administrator Jeff Silka said the program initially attracted remote-working individuals to the community, but the work dynamics have since changed…

“When we came up with it, remote work was surging, the Federal Government was surging, and then right after we got the program installed, the Federal Government, well, they RIF’d, and then they went back to office orders and now, Corporate America is kind of following the same suit of calling people back. So, we’ve kind of lost our draw.”
