County, Lonaconing Continue Water Talks

Allegany County Government recently met with officials of the Town of Lonaconing regarding outstanding debt for water and utilities that has been in dispute.  Since the debt involves Frostburg’s water system, Adam Patterson, County Director of Public Works, says specific details will emerge when all three parties are able to have a group meeting.  These details include whether Frostburg can lay their debt from the water issue on customers…

“Does Frostburg actually have the ability to assess this debt on outside customers, and it’s referencing the bond bill for the dam.  Does that language exist in the bond bill? So I’ve sent that to Patrick.  Their team is working on that.”
