IBM Layoffs At Rocket Center

WCBC has learned that the loss of a major services contract with the Internal Revenue Service has resulted in a layoff of approximately 100 employees at the IBM location in Rocket Center, West Virginia.  The federal agency chose not to renew the contract with IBM. Sources say the layoffs are effective September 4. The Rocket Center location for IBM supports federal technology and consulting programs. WCBC has reached out to IBM for comment.
