A Western Maryland collaborative is receiving nearly $1 million through Maryland’s Rural Health Transformation Program for a wellness initiative called Connected Care Western Maryland. Ashley Lane, Director of the Housing Authority for Frostburg shared the details with WCBC…

“The Housing Authority of the City of Frostburg, FSU, Maryland Wellness, and Live Together Inc. are collaborating to create a community wellness hub that will be located at Meshach Frost Village, and we will house and expand on behavioral health services access in the western region.”

Through FSU’s Social Work Program, Lane says students will gain workforce experience…

“We’re going to be creating pathways for students to get hands-on experience right alongside of these community partners and right in our rural communities.  We want to train professionals who understand our neighbors’ needs and are prepared to live and work here for years to come.”
