Baker Street Disturbance and CDS Arrest

On Thursday, August 27th, 2026, the Cumberland Police Department responded to the area of Maryland Ave and Baker St regarding a disturbance involving a male subject. Upon arrival, officers observed a male subject walking from the area who matched the description of the alleged suspect. As officers contacted the male, he was observed to remove items from his pockets and throw them onto the ground. Upon further inspection, officers discovered the items to be suspected fentanyl and CDS paraphernalia. As a result, Dillen Allen Smith, 32, of Flintstone MD, was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters. He was issued Criminal Citations for possession of CDS and littering and released, pending trial in District Court.
