Bridge Street CDS Arrest

On Monday, September 7, 2026, Cumberland Police Department Officers were patrolling a park in the area of Bridge Street when they observed a male wanted on an arrest warrant for failing to appear in court. Contact was made with Gary Bookheimer, who was then placed under arrest. A search of his person incident to arrest was conducted. The search yielded a quantity of suspected controlled dangerous substances and associated paraphernalia. An additional search of his belongings located on scene yielded an additional suspected controlled dangerous substance. Bookheimer was transported to police headquarters, where he was issued criminal citations for the CDS and associated paraphernalia. He was then taken before a district court commissioner, where he was released on his own recognizance pending trial.

ARRESTED: Gary Ray Bookheimer Jr., 62, Cumberland, MD.
CHARGES: Failure to Appear (CDS Charges), CDS Possession (x3), CDS Paraphernalia Possession.
