WV Sees Decline in Crime

West Virginia has seen a statewide decline in violent crime, property crime, and drug overdose deaths over the last year. Violent crime dropped by over 5.5%, property crime fell 13.5%. Governor Patrick Morrisey says by pairing prevention and recovery efforts with stronger laws and enforcement in taking drugs off the streets, drug overdoses and deaths have also dropped 12%…
“That outpaces the drop of the national average, and that means, very importantly, 99 West Virginia lives were saved. We’re all in the saving lives business, and I’m so grateful for those numbers. It affects real families here in West Virginia.”
