Arrest Warrant Served

On Wednesday, September 9th, 2026, the Cumberland Police Department arrested Daniel Stephen Fiddes, 37, of Cumberland MD. Fiddes was arrested on an active arrest warrant issued by the Allegany County District Court on August 2nd. The warrant stemmed from an incident that occurred on August 1st. During that incident, Fiddes was arrested on charges related to Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS). After receiving criminal citations for the offenses, Fiddes was observed tearing them up and throwing them on the ground in public. As a result, an application for charges was submitted and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Fiddes appeared before a District Court Commissioner for an Initial Appearance and was released on a $1000 unsecured bond.

CHARGES – Litter/Dump less than 100lbs, Obstructing and Hindering.
