Emerick Challenging for State Senate

Republican State Senator Mike McKay faces a Democratic challenger this November as Ashley Emerick has entered the race.  A first-time candidate, Emerick told WCBC News that she has concerns about the growth of data centers across the state…

“I oppose data centers. I don’t want to incentivize them. If we have to bring them in, then we need to regulate them and make sure that our water is protected and they don’t affect our utility bills.”

Emerick also discussed the growth of solar farms in Maryland…

“I’m open to solar farms. I just want to make sure that they’re placed strategically so that they don’t negatively impact the areas that they go into.”
