I68 Eastbound Open at Reduced Speeds

UPDATE 7.49a.m. First responders have left the scene of the early morning tractor-trailer fire. However, the Maryland Department of Transportation remains on site on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 68 at mile marker 40, awaiting a tow truck to remove the vehicle. The eastbound lanes of I-68 are currently open at reduced speeds, but please expect delays once the removal process begins.

REPORT 601a.m. Firefighters are on the scene of a commercial vehicle fire this morning on Interstate 68 eastbound, past LaVale on Haystack Mountain. The detour point is Exit 40, Vokie Road. The eastbound lanes of Interstate 68 are currently closed for the morning commute.
