C3I Charges Two Adults, Juvenile In Burglary and Auto Theft

On Thursday, members of the Allegany County Warrant Apprehension Unit along with Cumberland City Police apprehended two 18-year old suspects and one juvenile in connection with a recent commercial burglary and motor vehicle theft. During the arrests, officers also recovered a handgun. The arrests stem from two separate incidents in September – a motor vehicle theft on Altamont Terrace and burglary at a west side business. Detectives identified the individuals responsible for both crimes and secured arrest warrants for Cole Thomas Browning of Flintstone and Rilee Allen Whetstone of Cumberland, both 18. During apprehension, Browning was found to be in possession of a handgun, resulting in additional charges. Both are being held without bond. The juvenile was taken into custody and turned over to the Department of Juvenile Services and transferred to a detention facility to await court proceedings.
