Criminal Summons Served

On Monday, October 5, 2026, Cumberland Police Department Officers served a criminal summons on Chad Izat. The summons was issued after an incident that occurred on October 4, 2026, at a residence in the 400 Block of Columbia Street. Officers responded to the area for the report of an assault. Upon arrival, Officers located Chad Izat nearby, who fled from the residence and had apparent injuries to his head and hands. Izat appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance. Officers gave chase and were able to apprehend Izat in the area of North Centre Street and Eutaw Place after a brief struggle. Through the investigation, it was learned that Izat attempted to gain access to a residence through a broken window, resulting in his injuries. Based on this information, an application for charges was completed, and a summons was issued. Officers located Izat and served him with the summons. He was released pending his trial.
ARRESTED: Chad Edward Izat, 41, Cumberland, MD.
CHARGES: Failure to Obey, Obstructing and Hindering (x3), Disorderly Conduct, Trespass Posted Property, Disturb the Peace, CDS Possession.
