Property Owners Focusing on City Needs

One of five catalyst sites highlighted in the Downtown Redevelopment Services study for Cumberland includes the former Wheelz-Up location at 86 Baltimore Street which was sited as a potential location for a men’s retail store.  Mayor Ray Morriss says he has spoken with property owner Danny Malamis about focusing on benefitting the area…

“He’s being patient.  He’s not gonna just put in anything.  He wants to put in something that truly the City needs and what fits.  I think we’re at that point in our turnaround is that we can be to an extent a little particular about what we’re gonna tell property owners what should be looking for.”
