CBIZ Sold to Grant Thornton

Grant Thornton Advisors has acquired CBIZ in an all-cash transaction valued at $5 billion dollars, creating what the companies say will be the fifth-largest U.S. provider of professional services, tax, and advisory services. Grant Thornton plans to separate CBIZ’s benefits and insurance business into an independent company. There has been no announcement of changes at the Cumberland location from the purchase that should finalize before the end of the year.
