A lawsuit is being pursued against Aramark, a company that provides food in West Virginia prisons and jails. The company has a $20 million state contract, but those incarcerated say they are receiving meager meals.  Prison nutrition researcher Leslie Soble says meals have very few fresh fruits, vegetables, and quality protein and whole foods are making some sick…

“People are often being served, moldy bread, spoiled milk, rotten meat, things that arrive in boxes marked not for human consumption. And even when the actual quality of the food is a little more edible, it’s still not healthy at all.”
