Hunter rescued from Jackson Mountain

A 49-year-old Westminster man was rescued on Thursday after falling and becoming entangled in a tree stand in a remote forest area between Sadie Lane and Potomac Hollow roads. Due to the remote location, Maryland State Police Aviation Command’s Trooper 5 helicopter deployed a specialized rescuer and ladder to extricate the victim shortly before 1:00 p.m. The victim was flown to UPMC Western Maryland for evaluation. Multiple local fire and EMS departments assisted in the operation, and no other injuries were reported.
