Republican Morriss Endorses Wes Moore

Today, Cumberland Mayor Ray Morriss endorsed Governor Wes Moore as he seeks reelection in 2026.

“Leaving no one behind requires reaching every corner of our state. It means opportunity in Western Maryland, investing in Cumberland, and electing leaders willing to work across party lines to turn that promise into progress through partnership,” said Governor Wes Moore. “Ray is a Republican, and I’m a Democrat–but that’s never mattered. Together we will continue the work we have done together and we will keep delivering for the people of Cumberland and all of Allegany County.”

“Governor Moore is a common-sense leader that understands Cumberland families expect their leaders to work together, and since he’s taking office I’ve been proud to work with and welcome him to Cumberland on many occasions,” said Cumberland Mayor Ray Morriss. “I look forward to continuing our work together to create progress for the people we’re honored to serve.”
