Traffic Stop CDS Arrest

On Friday October 30th, 2026 at approximately 8:30 p.m., an officer from the Cumberland Police Department observed a vehicle operating with one functional head lamp. The officer initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the operator, Kristine Marie Spangler. While speaking with Spangler the officer observed CDS (in a glassine package) in plain view on the passenger seat of her vehicle. Spangler handed the CDS to the officer, was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters. Spangler was then issued citations and released pending trial in District Court.
