Powell To Remain Visible in Political Arena

Darrell Lee Powell was defeated in his bid to unseat Cumberland’s incumbent Mayor Ray Morriss in Tuesday’s election.  Powell told WCBC News that he hopes to become more involved in city politics…

“I gave it my best. I was out there. I’m not going to give up. I’m going to remain an active person in trying to improve things here in Cumberland. I think I may start going to the council meetings and videotaping and doing little news stories since it appears that they may not do livestreaming of the council meetings.”
