City Exploring Options for Former Rescue Mission Site

The Mayor and City Council voted Wednesday night to accept a bid from Kiddy’s Contracting to demolish the former Union Rescue Mission on Queen City Pavement. Mayor Ray Morriss noted that there are various options for that area of town.
“We’ll do the demo on that. I think Mr. Kiddy’s company got the contract to demo that building, and then we’ll take a good look there. That whole block will then be opened up. You know, we’ve got ideas for a possibly transportation center or something like that over there for buses.”
