An Agency Impact Report released this week by the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development showed that the department’s programs generated $8.5 billion in economic impact and almost $2 billion in wages and salaries – the equivalent of over 30,000 jobs. In 2025, DHC financed 4,000 construction or rehabilitation housing units and helped more residents become home owners through the Maryland Mortgage Program with down payment assistance and mortgage options.
