Ali Ghan Road Assault, Reckless Endangerment Arrest

On Monday, September 21, 2026, Cumberland Police Department Officers responded to a business in the 13000 Block of Ali Ghan Road for the report of a stabbing. Upon their arrival, Officers contacted the victim inside the store, who had an obvious knife wound. After the suspect information was obtained, it was learned that a vehicle matching the provided description had just struck two other vehicles while attempting to leave the area. Officers were able to locate the suspect, who was then identified as Carlton Smith. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Allegany County Detention Center, where he is held without bond pending his trial.

CHARGES: Assault First Degree, Assault Second Degree, Reckless Endangerment.
