On Wednesday, April 22, 2026, deputies with the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for service in the Sixth Avenue area of Cresaptown regarding a missing 13-year-old juvenile. Upon arrival, deputies determined that the juvenile had been missing for an extended period. In response, the Sheriff’s Office deployed K9 Udo to conduct a track. Beginning behind the Cresaptown Elementary School, K9 Udo tracked for approximately half a mile, ultimately leading deputies to a tent located near the CSX railroad tracks. The juvenile was found inside and was subsequently reunited with his family. The Allegany County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit continues to demonstrate its effectiveness through ongoing training and operational readiness. Over the past several months, the unit has successfully assisted in locating four missing or fleeing individuals.
