On Monday, July 13, 2026, Cumberland Police Department Officers served a bench warrant on James Whetstone. The warrant was issued as a result of Whetstone’s failure to appear in court on July 9, 2026. He was arrested and taken before a district court commissioner. Whetstone was released pending his trial at the Allegany County District Court.
