Bench Warrants Served

On Thursday, February 26th, 2026, the Cumberland Police Department arrested Rita Arlene Wagner, 59, of Ridgeley WV. Wagner was arrested on an active Bench Warrant issued by the Allegany County District Court in November 2021. The warrant alleges Wagner violated the terms and conditions of probabtion that had been placed upon her due to a previous conviction on a charge of driving under the influence. She was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an Initial Appearance where she was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. She is currently being held on $1,500 bond.

On Thursday, February 26th, 2026, the Cumberland Police Department arrested Michael Gage Butler, 30, of Cumberland MD. Butler was arrested on three active Bench Warrants issued by the Allegany County District Court on January 8th, 2026. The warrants allege Butler failed to appear in District Court on that date for previous charges of possession of CDS paraphernalia and destruction of property. He was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an Initial Appearance where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. He is currently being held without bond.
