Big Changes in Youth Baseball Locally

After decades of providing baseball to boys after little league, the Hot Stove League appears to be out of business. The league’s major fundraiser, Hot Stove Bingo on Industrial Boulevard, is now closed, at least temporarily. Hot Stove Bingo has run for decades three nights a week. Allegany County government has accepted a request for proposal from Mountain League Baseball, which will maintain three playing fields at the Fairgrounds—Holler, Hamilton, and Memorial. Two divisions will be competing—a junior division for 13 and 14 year olds, and a senior division for players 15, 16, and 17. Registration for players is available at mountainleaguebaseball.com.
