Bird Count Helps Conservation Efforts

The Great Backyard Bird Count ended on Monday, where residents across the country tracked and counted birds they saw or heard for 15 minutes. Watchers upload information on their findings via an app, the Merlin Bird ID. “It’s repeated every year about the same time, and incorporates a huge number of volunteers. So, you’ve got this nice snapshot of the common feeder birds, or backyard birds across the continent. You can compare that over time and see how things might be changing.”
